Maybe, Goober thought, if he could hang out with these real nuts, he might change how others thought of him. Maybe he could even change how he thought of himself. He admired the nuts so much. He would do anything to be accepted by them.
That night, Goober decided not to return to the large sack that held the other peanuts. He stayed on the new shelf with the almonds, Brazil nuts, filberts, pecans and walnuts.
Perhaps, he hoped, no one would notice.
